Daily Doodle #2

Hello Timberwolf Artists!

Today I challenge you to draw as many different kinds of arrows as you can.  You can make them different colors, use different kinds of lines, use patterns, draw with the wrong hand, or use any way of drawing you can think of.  Did you count how many arrows I did in my doodle?

Artfully yours,

Mrs. Starbuck

Introducing the Daily Doodle

Hello All!  I wanted to challenge myself (and YOU!) to draw for even just a little bit every day.  So....I'm introducing a daily doodle!  I'll post mine, and you can feel free to post yours in the comments.  Many of you will recognize this from the art room, but here's how I did it:

1.  I made a lot of tiny dots.  I like to make some close together and some far apart.  I made about 40 dots in total.

2.  I connect the dots however I feel like it.  Remember: I'm not trying to make a recognizable picture. I'm just having fun!

3.  I add a few extra lines here and there.  If some of the shapes I created when I connected my dots were on the big side, I drew extra lines to create more sections.

4.  Color it in!  If you don't have colors at home, you could do patterns in pencil or sharpie or whatever you've got!

In addition to my daily doodles, every Friday you can look forward to me uploading a video with a project to do at home.  Also know that I will be checking my e-mail every day from 1-3pm so if you or your family need any art guidance, please don't hesitate to reach out!  That's all for now BEU friends.  I miss you all terribly.  <3 Mrs. S

Art Resources for Encouraging Art at Home!

Hello BEU Students and Families,

I miss you all already.  I'm typing this blog post from my too-quiet classroom as I work to prepare resources to support my young artists while I can't be with you all in person.

Here is what I'd like you all to know:

1.  Both Ms. Martin and I plan to upload an instructional video at 1pm each friday that we are out of school, beginning with Friday April 3rd.

2.  I will be holding office hours starting on Monday, March 30th every week day from 1-3.  This means that I will be regularly checking my e-mail during these periods each day. My first video will be a studio tour of my at-home art studio with suggestions for how to set up a studio in your home and a simple art project!

Please e-mail me any cool examples of artwork your kiddo(s) have made at home!  I'd love to see!

3.  I've compiled a simple list of online resources and art books that can help support young artists.  Feel free to peruse the list for ideas:
